Hook and Sink - First Prototype

I just uploaded the first prototype of my Game Jam game called "Hook and Sink"!

The Game Design and Game Art and Animation students at Sunnhordland FHS 2023/24 had a three day Game Jam with the themes "There's no place like home" and "Folklore". One of the groups shared an idea with me about a creature called the Nix, which lives in swamps and lakes, who drags people into the water. Their idea was to make a fishing game where the Nix fishes for humans to eat. I liked the idea so much that I ended up creating it myself, since the students ended up using another game idea themselves.

Gameplay is very simple: You're at the bottom of a swamp, fishing for humans at the surface. You steer your hook to avoid obstacles, and try to snatch onto a human. Then you drag them to the bottom of the swamp, rewarding you with points.

I'd like to add more features to the game, such as more obstacles, more human variants, and maybe upgrades for the hook. A main menu and some basic functionality is also planned.
